Bar Bruno

520 Henry Street, BK 11231

An authentic Mexican bistro with a touch of NY feels located in Cobble Hill. Wheelchair accessible and family-friendly, with outside seatings available. The price range is reasonable for the location. I ordered carnitas tacos for takeout and they were goood! The food is well seasoned and just dripping with flavor – literally!

Hometown BBQ

Red Hook, Brooklyn 454 Van Brunt St, BK 11231

One of my favorite bbq spots in the city! I frequent the one in Red Hook, but they have two other locations in Industry City and Miami. Expect a long line to order your food, but it’s worth the wait. Boasting large family-sized tables and smaller intimate ones, outdoor seating, and a down-home rustic feel, this restaurant caters to every BBQ lover. I personally love love LOVE the brisket and Korean sticky ribs. The Jamaican baby back ribs are amazing and their pulled pork is packed with flavor. I could go on and on but everything on the menu is delicious.

This place has an amazing atmosphere and vibe – including arcade games, foosball, booth-style seating, outdoor seating, and more. The food is even better. With the option to build your own burger, Franklin Park, also known as Dutch Boy burger, is the burger and beer spot to go. The staff are super cool and friendly.

I’m a sucker for good pizza and good energy and Two Boots is just the place for that. With a funky and jazzy decor coupled with tasty food, you can’t go wrong. Their pizza is uniquely named after some Brooklyn greats with Cajun-style flavors added to the mix. It’s a very family-oriented establishment, with opportunities for children to make their own pizza. With a number of locations that are easy to get to (East +West Village, Williamsburg, Jersey City, and Nashville) you have no reason not to try it!

664 Flatbush Ave, BK 11225

I absolutely love J & J Delicious Cakes because of the excellent customer service they provide and the most delicious sweet goods. Fairly new to the neighborhood, this family-owned business offers everything from cupcakes, cakes, gelatos (spiked), sorbet, and of course ice cream. I can attest to saying they have the best banana pudding I’ve ever had. Limited seating area.

Some Helpful Tips To Support Small Businesses And Service Men and Women During This Time:

  1. If possible, call in and order food directly from the restaurant to avoid them losing money from third-party delivery services.

  2. Buy food from your favorite restaurants and send a meal to those who you know may need it, or to a friend to let them know you care and are thinking of them.

  3. Tip well – People are sacrificing themselves on a daily basis to bring you meals and other goods. Please tip them well to show your appreciation.

  4. Request that items are left at your door to avoid unnecessary contact with others. It protects yourself and those servicing your area.
