TOURING NY | CENTRAL PARK ZOO

Updated: Mar 9

If you're looking for something to do with your little munchkin on a beautiful spring day, look no further than the Central Park Zoo. Most people rave about the expansive Bronx Zoo, however, depending on how little your children are, the sheer size can be a bit overwhelming to explore in a day. The Central Park Zoo, on the other hand, is big enough to keep any child's (or adult's) attention, but small enough to get through in one afternoon!

MEET SOME OF THE ANIMALS

Tickets to the Central Park Zoo also include the Tisch Children Zoo, which has a petting area containing sheep, goats, and more. To find it, make a left at the ticketing entrance to the main zoo, and follow the signage and the man playing the saxophone to the Tisch Children's Zoo just past the tunnel.

My favorite exhibit at the Central Park Zoo is the Tropic Zone, where the heat envelopes you as you explore the lush forest they've created. With exotic birds and fruit bats flying around, you'll feel transported to the Rainforest! If you're looking for immersive experiences for your children this summer, in-person camp is back in session with small-group experiences and classes for 2yr olds to 9th graders! Unless otherwise noted, all camps run from 9am - 3pm Mon-Fri each week. Find the perfect class for your little one here!
