Touring NY | Highland Park Ridgewood Reservoir

If you are a runner, biker, or looking for a scenic place to take a nice long stroll with a friend or your dog, the Highland Park Ridgewood Reservoir is the place for you. As you walk the 1.7 mile path, take in the beautiful views of the Ridgewood Reservoir, the Rockaways, the Atlantic Ocean, and nearby cemeteries. It’s a very peaceful area, with lots of breaks in the path if you’d like to get out of the path and get back onto the main road.

The Nitty Gritty:

  1. There is a parking lot right across from the main entrance

  2. Wheelchair accessible

  3. Bathrooms are clean and can be found on the grounds behind the parking lot where families often barbecue

  4. Dog waste bags are provided at the main entrance (shown in the first pic) just in case you forgot to bring them

  5. The path is very well maintained and well lit for evening strolls, however, I’d still recommend having a friend or two with you after dark as a safety precaution.
